Adult supervision
- A trained adult is present and watching at every meeting, activity and event — kids never bake alone.
- Adults handle ovens, hot trays, stovetops, sharp knives and electric mixers.
- Hands washed before and during baking; hair tied back; aprons on.
- Clean surfaces and separate utensils for raw dough and finished treats.
- No tasting raw dough or raw egg.
- A first-aid kit is on hand and adults know where the nearest fire extinguisher is.
Allergy awareness
- Parents list every allergy and dietary need on the sign-up and parent forms.
- Every recipe's ingredients are shared with parents ahead of the meeting.
- Common allergens (wheat, egg, milk, nuts, soy) are clearly labelled on packaged treats.
- Nut-containing ingredients are kept separate, and we avoid them when a baker has a nut allergy.
- Bakers never share food with a friend without an adult checking first.
- If a child carries an epinephrine auto-injector, parents let the ambassador know where it is.
